(2007 Vintage) The 2007 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon offers aromas of black currant, star anise and wild mint. Plush flavors of blackberry, cardamom and bittersweet cocoa are accented by mouth-coating tannins and a luscious finish.
pine, cedar, mint, plums and berries. suave and silky; fully integrated. delicious. 95 pts. at or near it's peak, drink up! Tried again on 4/23/17 with JT. Still drinking great, funk nose upon opening, cleared up and drank beautifully the rest of the night. Smokey and cedar on the nose, more chocolate, secondary notes dominating over fruit. Great stuff!!!

Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(1999 Vintage) Given the spectacular showing of this wine's older brother in our Centerfold tasting, its placing here comes as a complete surprise and an utter disappointment. Brushy, leathery, dry and somewhat muddy in aromatic tone, this expensive bottling goes from supple at entry to harsh and abrasive at the finish, and it never finds a remotely adequate supply of fruit.
