Winemaker's Notes

(From 2006 Vintage) Ruby-red. Aromatically pure nose offers black cherry, raspberry, chocolate and mocha. Sweet on entry, then juicy, fruity and vinous, with harmonious acidity framing the fruit and extending the finish....

  • Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines
(From 2006 Vintage) 85% Merlot; 10% Cabernet Sauvignon; 5% Cabernet Franc. As is the case with most of the wines in our brief sampling of 2006 Pomerols, Clinet leads with lightly herbal, red cherry aromas that smack faintly of dried brush and celery seed. It is not an especially big or gutsy wine, but it is nicely polished and its tannins are well-fit to its soft-spoken fruit. A bit of polish is already evident, and it needs fairly brief aging.
