(From 2005 Vintage) Good deep red-ruby. Dark berries, black cherry and licorice on the nose, with a less exaggerated oak element despite the fact that this was aged in 95% new American barrels. With laid-back flavors of currant, plum and tobacco leaf. Finishes with substantial, slightly dry tannins and good persistence.
The 1987 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a medium ruby-red color. It has a complex nose of black cherries, rose petals, coffee and ginger. This wine has a medium body, with a medium-length, tart finish. Enjoy now through 2011.
