93 Points, Wine Spectator:
"Excellent balance and depth of flavor to this Cabernet blend, with mocha-laced oak wrapped around ripe currant and blackberry fruit. It's seamless, and reveals extra flavor dimensions and elements of finesse that draw you back for another sip. Best from 2004 through 2012. 6,700 cases made. –JL" (10/15/2002)
90 Points, Wine Enthusiast:
"A blend of four varieties dominated by Cabernet, grown in seven vineyards, this represents current tastes in Napa. It’s extremely rich in ripe blackberry and cassis flavors, made up with richly smoked oak. The tannins are ultrasoft, and so are the acids. —S.H." (12/31/2002)
(From 1994 Vintage) Profile is a blend of our best lots of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, chosen for their concentration, depth of flavor and fine tannin structure. This wine was aged in new French oak chateau barrels and bottled unfiltered. It is very dark and opulently structured -- characteristic of this very ripe vintage. Wine & Spirits(From 2001 Vintage) The 2001 Profile is an excellent wine, but recent vintages are even stronger. The fully mature 2001, a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, exhibits a dense plum/garnet color as well as a sweet perfume of tobacco leaf, incense, roasted herbs and red and black currants. Good opulence and a lush texture result in an attractive attack and mid-palate. Then the wine softens and seems fully mature. However, in a cold cellar it will last another 7ndash;10 years.
