1987 Baron Philippe de Rothschild Chateau Mouton Rothschild Pauillac

Wine Description

(From 2003 Vintage) This is downright exotic on the nose: mocha, coffee, graphite and coconut, lifted by sandalwood and cinnamon spice. Then dense, supple and fine-grained without coming across as heavy. Suggestion of aromatic tree bark.

Winemaker's Notes

(From 2007 Vintage) The deep purple-colored 2007 Mouton reveals sweet aromas of creme de cassis, subtle oak, and flowers. Medium to full-bodied and elegant with sweet tannin as well as flavors and a texture that build incrementally on the palate.

Expert Reviews

Rating: 0/5 - As reviewed by Decanter. Deep plum red; sweet oaky nose; medium-bodied, soft, oaky, easy tannins, polished, reasonable depth of flavour, well judged oak, could do with more concentration; medium length.
