(From 2005 Vintage) Good deep red-ruby. Dark berries, black cherry and licorice on the nose, with a less exaggerated oak element despite the fact that this was aged in 95% new American barrels. With laid-back flavors of currant, plum and tobacco leaf. Finishes with substantial, slightly dry tannins and good persistence.
The 1985 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a medium ruby-red color. This wine has an expressive nose of black plum, caramel and nutmeg. This Cabernet has a medium body with echoes of fruit flavors and a long, smooth finish. Enjoy now through 2010.
