Winemaker's Notes

(From 1981 Vintage) The 1981 Leoville-Las Cases appears close to full maturity, with an excellent deep ruby color, a spicy, cedary, tobacco and currant-scented nose, and good depth and ripeness. A classic, elegantly wrought wine, this is one vintage where the final blend was more complex,

(From 1970 Vintage) Rating: 0/5 - As reviewed by Decanter. Fairly deep red, some maturity; sweet elegant cedary nose, vanilla, lovely fruit, ample lift and flair; medium-bodied, elegant, good acidity, compact, lacks some richness but vigorous; quite good length. Some bottles have been more faded and lean.
