1981 Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

Wine Description

(From 2009 Vintage) The 2009 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a ripe, rich, layered, yet elegant wine. It has a dark, ruby color and a complex nose of cassis jam, mocha, violets and nutmeg. On the palate, the wine has a delectable berry-laden entry and a rich, mouthcoating mid-palate. The tannins are beautifully integrated and the wine has a long, satiny finish.

Winemaker's Notes

The 1981 Alexander Valley has a light ruby color with red pepper and spice in the nose. It is light bodied with some fruit on the palate. This wine is starting to peak and would be best enjoyed now. Due to limited supply in our library this wine was last tasted June 2004. May need decanting due to light sediment and some bottle to bottle variation is apparent in this vintage.
