(1979 Vintage) 96 points Robert Parker: This was a blind vertical of the famed Martha's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from Heitz Cellars. All of the wines... showed plenty of cedar, cassis fruit, and surprisingly, less eucalyptus/mint than they possessed when young... perhaps the biggest sleeper of all, the 1979, the wine that won the tasting. It came across as the most concentrated and complete. (Jul 2002)

    (1999 Vintage) If sharing a certain slightly minty aspect with its sibling below, this very solid young wine is slightly less outgoing in fruit, but it is a touch deeper in character and shows a little more varietal range. It leads with suppleness in the mouth but is roughed up in the latter going by moderate tannins, and it shows a slight trim of heat at the finish.
