Wine Details

Wine Description

(From 2005 Vintage) The climate in the Ardèche, to the west of the Rhône, certainly suits Chardonnay. This is a fine example with creamy, buttery and nutty characteristics with a good long finish.

Winemaker's Notes

(From «nv» Vintage) "Consistency of climate and abundant sunshine in the Ardeche perfectly ripen these bunches of grapes , whilst the drying Mistral wind eliminates any risk of rot. The Grand Ardeche is treated as if it were grown in one of the Grand Cru vineyards of the Cote-d'Or. Fully-ripened grapes are selected and pressed lightly before being aged in oak barrels made at the Latour cooperage in Beaune. The result is a full-bodied wine that is smooth with notes reminiscent of exotic fruits and vanilla spice impar... Sparkling gold yellow in colour with a delicate nose of white flowers, toasted almonds and brioche. Nice length in the mouth, this wine is fat, round and with subtle hints of coconut. A balanced and harmonious wine, it will reach it's best in 2-3 years time. A fantastic Grand Ardèche!
