1978 Chateau Lanessan Delbos-Bouteiller Haut-Medoc

Wine Description

(From 2010 Vintage) Dark ruby/plum colored, with evolved notes of cedar wood, earth and underbrush, this wine possesses the classic tobacco leaf and black currants of a mid-level Medoc. It is medium-bodied, has good ripeness and should age nicely for 15 or more years.

Winemaker's Notes

(From 1996 Vintage) Lanessan is located in Cussac just south of Saint-Julien and opposite the big vineyard of Chateau Gruaud-Larose. The 1996 is an impressive effort, deep ruby with plenty of blackcurrant, spice box and cedar, quite savoury and long in the mouth. Great value.
