(2007 Vintage) The 2007 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon offers aromas of black currant, star anise and wild mint. Plush flavors of blackberry, cardamom and bittersweet cocoa are accented by mouth-coating tannins and a luscious finish.
tasted 6/2011. perfectly preserve no bricking. absolutely out of this world. can pass for 1st growth Bordeaux. perfect from the start & never faded over 5 hour dinner. very lucky to have tasted it 30 plus years afterwards. wow. had my last one on 12/11/11, very enjoyable. sad to see it go. just as good as the first one. wow.
Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(1999 Vintage) Given the spectacular showing of this wine's older brother in our Centerfold tasting, its placing here comes as a complete surprise and an utter disappointment. Brushy, leathery, dry and somewhat muddy in aromatic tone, this expensive bottling goes from supple at entry to harsh and abrasive at the finish, and it never finds a remotely adequate supply of fruit.
