(From 2012 Vintage) Lagrange 2012 is a good density of wine, well structured without being aggressive, with elegance and good length.
(From 1997 Vintage) The excellent Château Lagrange is one of St. Juliens great wines - powerful, full-bodied and concentrated. The vintages since 1985 introduce ripe fruit aromas of rich black currant and cherry, spicy, toasty new oak, minerals, and in some vintages cedar and charcoal. They are appealing when young but also have great potential for long aging. They are also very reasonably priced for their level of quality, and dependably fine 7-20 years following their vintage.

Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(From 2006 Vintage) 66% Cabernet Sauvignon; 22% Merlot; 7% Petit Verdot. This somewhat sturdy and well-stuffed youngster starts out with complex aromas of cassis, stone and graphite and for a moment hints that it might be plush on the palate. It nonetheless turns out to be a bit little bit backward and a touch on the tough side, but it shows plenty of depth and promises good things with six to eight years of age.
