Wine Description

(From 2006 Vintage) The 2006 Cristal is one of the most towering, structured young Cristals I can remember tasting. Roederer is among the first, if not the first, major house to release its tete de cuvees. Young Cristal can often deceive with its open, seductive personality, but that is not at all the case here. The 2006 is majestic, powerful Cristal that is going to need bottle age. Today it is massive, tightly coiled and imposing, with tons of structure, phenomenal balance and plenty of potential for the future.

Winemaker's Notes

(From 2005 Vintage) The iconic Roederer Champagne, Cristal’s latest release, brings a perfect balance of richness and age worthiness. It is full of apple flavor, and the mousse is very fine and almost imperceptible.

It occupies a comfortable middle ground between t...

(From 1999 Vintage) One does not have to be a rock star to enjoy Cristal, but it does help to have deep pockets. The wine is a beauty, and always has been, so its great success with us should come as no surprise. We love its rich, creme brulee, apple and cherry notes tied to toasted biscuits and hints of chalk and minerals. It has a wealth of tiny bubbles and is creamy and smooth across the palate. Its mix of richness and refinement makes it into one of the more sophisticated wines in the tasting.
