Château Mouton Rothschild Pauillac

Wine Description

(1980 Vintage) Premier Cru Classé Château Mouton Rothschild has 90 hectares of vines in Pauillac in the Médoc. His story is that of a magical encounter between a local and a man, the legendary Baron Philippe de Rothschild (1902-1988), renovator Mouton and pioneer of the wine world. Baroness Philippine de Rothschild (1933-2014), owner of the estate with her children, continued the work of his father and reaffirmed the link between Mouton and art while ensuring excellence of one of the greatest world wines.

(1994 Vintage) Rating: 0/5 - As reviewed by Decanter. Very deep red; hefty new oak nose, opulent fruit, classic; very rich, sleek, has good concentration and depth, hefty tannins and a bit chunky, but not without elegance; good length, tannic finish.
