This is a bottled lesson in regionality and winemaking. If you think you know 'Australian shiraz', taste this. The fruit is concentrated, as you'd expect, but it's defined and subtly layered and integrates beautifully with the spine of clean, fresh acid. The tannins are ripe, sweet and fine-grained, and the texture is juicy but silky soft. Drink it now through to 2015. Score - 4 1/2 Stars (out of 5).
