2009 Von Holt Wines Pinot Noir Russian River Valley
The savory kirsch and cherry flavors of the Ketcham Estate are a nice counterplay to the earthy, red-fruited intensity of the Suacci. Clones are Pommard, 828, 115 and 777. Native primary and malolactic fermentation.
Ward Kadel - VinopanionColor: lighter ruby, clear edges Nose: Brightest red fruit here of cranberry and rhubarb, a little dusty raspberry, then hints of some more savory herb characteristics that should arrive in a year or two. Palate: Light bodied, very good acidity, somewhat closed tarter red fruit here to complement the light fine tannins, as the finish approaches, rose petal and light leather flavors arrive. Juicier tart red fruit finish in this young age.
