Description
Unobstructed by oak, Sonoma Carneros Chardonnay fruit provides wonderful aromas of peach, pear, and melon while a touch of Muscat provides accessibility. It’s an unoaked delight and a tasteful tribute to the person in your life anticipating their next "Calgon, take me away" retreat.

Production Notes

Our Mira Luna Tough Day Chardonnay is a one-of-a kind release crafted by winemaker Francis Sanders using Carneros grapes. The bottle features a whimsical edition of our Mira Luna label, designed by David Griffin, with a cartoon drawing of a woman relaxing in a tub sipping said Chardonnay.

The label is based on the characters from Corked the comic. While poking fun at the winemaking industry, the strip chronicles the adventures of a fictitious Russian River Valley cult winery, Isinglas Cellars. Follow the fullmoon antics of this character and more at www.corkedthecomic.com.

Derived and bottled at a winery known to produce world-class Chardonnay, this wine took three tries over a five-month period to get it right. The third time was truly the charmer! By final release, it developed into a Chardonnay exhibiting pristine varietal fruit proudly framed in Sonoma Carneros terroir, accessible to a rank beginner while providing value to the most jaded connoisseur.

Serving Suggestions

The traditional family meal of ham topped off with pineapple rings, cherries and a sweet glaze is the perfect opportunity to showcase this New World Chardonnay. It’s also a classic aperitif.

Awards

Silver, 2010 World Wine Championships:

"Aromas of pineapple segments, floral waxy lip balm, and tropical fruit custard have a peppery spice edge and follow through on a brisk entry to a tart, dry light-to-medium body with nice smoothness. Finishes with a baked apple and orange peel fade."

Bronze, 2010 San Francisco International Wine Competition Label Design Awards

2010 World Wine Championships Packaging Competition:

Silver, creativity category

Silver, graphic design category

Bronze, style category
