Wine.comThe Wine: The intense color of opulent rubies is of note at the onset. Oak-scented cherry and berry aromas lead to rich fruit on the palate. A perfect mix of bright berry flavors laced with smoky oak held in balance with affirming tannins makes this wine luscious in the mouth through a long, lingering finish. The Matches: An indulgent partner to the finest beef, lamb or game is found in this opulent Cabernet Sauvignon. The addition of thyme, full-flavored mushrooms or peppercorns to the entree creates wonderful harmony with this wine.

SRP 90 - Robert Parker 90 Points My favorite red from Trefethen is their 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate. Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by a classic nose of black currants, crushed rocks and spring flowers. This medium-bodied, stylish, graceful, harmonious red defines prettiness and finesse, proving that not every Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa has to be a powerhouse. Drink it over the next 10-15 years.

buckeye01Lush aromas fill your glass with black currant, boysenberries, and bing cherries. On the palate, these fruit flavors lengthen into a spicy finish with the help of balanced tannin as a backbone. The medium weight body adds a soft texture that coats your mouth and lingers long after your last sip. Blend: 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot 1% Cabernet Franc, 1% Malbec, 1% Petit Verdot
