nancyred79Chilean growers once believed that the Carmenère grape was a clone of Merlot, but the country officially recognized it as a distinct variety in 1994. This delicious crowd-pleaser is an excellent example of why Carmenère deserves recognition. Ripe, smoky aromas and flavours of black plum, currant, chocolate, leather and spice bathe the senses with good balance and length. Particularly suited to a fine rack of lamb or nicely spiced penne arrabiata.
