WINEMAKER'S NOTE
After harvest by hand, the fruit was crushed and de-stemmed upon arrival at the winery. It was imperative to press the Cabernet and Petit Verdot before tannin levels rose too high. Post fermentation the individual lots were racked into new and one-year-old French oak barrels. Initial assemblage occurred in spring of 2009 with the final assemblage in January 2010. The wine was then racked back into barrel and bottled in mid-June of 2010 after 14 months of aging.

DescriptionThe wine’s sheer depth is telegraphed by the deep, opaque, ruby red color. The aromatics and flavors are what you would expect from the vintage, region and variety: blackberry, black tea, baked berry pie, chocolate, raspberries and olives. While the wine possesses formidable heft, it is also smooth, silky and beautifully balanced.
