WINEMAKER'S NOTE
Generations is a tribute to the Raymond family’s five generations of winemaking in the Napa Valley. This limited production wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and the winery’s ultimate expression of this varietal. Grapes were fermented on the skins for 8-10 days to capture the “juicy” fruit before being moved to new, tight-grained, medium toast French oak barrels for 18-20 months of aging before final blending. Only our best barrels from forests in Nevers, Allier and the Center of France were selected for this blend.

BackgroundThe 2008 Generations Cabernet Sauvignon is deep garnet in color with elegant aromas of cardamon, baking spice with slight hints of dried cherries and vanilla. On the palate, the wine is silky, smooth and supple. A full mouthfeel is complemented by flavors of black cherry, star anise, and rich dark chocolate. This wine is complex and will continue to develop over the next 10 to 15 years.
