WINEMAKER'S NOTE

BackgroundOur 2008 vintage is a medium-bodied mouthful of chocolate covered strawberries, wild plums and cassis with hints of vanilla extract, molasses and toasted tobacco. The 2008 vintage is a proprietary blend of Petite Sirah, Zinfandel, Carignane, Grenache and Mourvedre. The century-old vines are planted in a field blend style with various Rhone varietal and Zinfandel vines interspersed throughout the vineyard blocks. The grapes are harvested at the same time and processed in a cofermentation style with everyone jumping into the pool at the same time. The resulting product is a wonderful old-world, field blend style wine.
