wildwillie90Tasting Notes: In an outstanding Merlot year coupled with the addition of Red Willow Vineyard Merlot to the blend, our 2008 D2 does not disappoint and can be expected to stand out as a stellar example of the vintage. This wine has an extremely expressive nose of toasted black cherries, violets, lavender, thyme, all encapsulated in subtle mocha espresso from the oak. On the palate, rich dark fruits of blackberries and black cherries co-mingle with chocolate nuances. The 2008 D2 is extremely charming, rich and unusually complex -- a truly exceptional vintage for D2. Varietal Blend: 55% Merlot | 39% Cabernet Sauvignon | 4% Cabernet Franc | 2% Petit Verdot vineyard breakdown: 13% Red Willow Merlot 12% Boushey Vineyard Merlot 10% Stillwater Creek Merlot 10% Ciel du Cheval Merlot 5% Klipsun Merlot 4% Kiona Merlot 1% Harrison Hill Merlot 23% Grand Ciel Cabernet 5% Ciel du Cheval Cabernet 5% Klipsun Cabernet 4% Red Willow Cabernet 2% Harrison Hill Cabernet 2% Ciel du Cheval Cabernet Franc 2% Boushey Cabernet Franc 2% Ciel du Cheval Petit Verdot

tombiroStands up well to previous D2 bottlings, if you're a fan. Definitely worth giving it some breathing time.
