DescriptionFrom California’s celebrated Central Coast appellation, the 2008 Cycles Gladiator Pinot Noir begins with complex and pleasant red fruit aromas, as suggested by the beet-red color of this bright and fresh wine. An extremely luxurious nose is filled with aromas of ripe tomato, sassafras and light notes of peppermint that tease the senses as each takes a turn at center stage. Meanwhile, a touch of sweet wood emerges as a hint of truffle glides just out of reach. Sweet and smooth, like velvet in the mouth, this wine is perfectly balanced. A long finish, combined with pleasurable notes of raspberry on the palate, make this wine perfect to drink with a wide range of foods, but complex enough to drink on its own. Enjoy this Pinot Noir with roasted lamb shank and butter beans or with a mushroom and Swiss cheese-smothered burger.
