Idiosyncratic smells of pineapple and sweet coconut direct this one on a path all its own, and, although fairly ripe and fleshy in feel, the wine never quite keys of classic Chardonnay fruit in its slightly juicy, vaguely tropical flavors. It is oddly confected to be sure, but it should find success as a foil to the likes of sweetly sauced chicken.
