Wine & SpiritsRating: 92/100 - As reviewed by Wine & Spirits Magazine on 04/09. With each vintage Armin Diel, in his partnership with Long Shadows's Allen Shoup, is homing in on riesling expression from the Columbia Valley. The 2007, from estimable vineyard sources that include Wallula, Weinbau and Dionysus, is ripe and tropical, leading with peach accents and a wheaty scent of lees. The flavors are exuberant and fresh, the textures voluptuous, held to a lean contour by a firm, talc-like minerality that calls to mind Diel's home turf.

Food & WineRating: VERY GOOD Distinctive - As reviewed by Food & Wine - 2009 Wine Guide on 2009. Quite rare for Riesling, this wine is partially (just 3 percent of the blend) fermented in oak. The result is gorgeous: Spiced-pear, melon and flinty aromas are followed by a slightly off-dry palate, with sweet apricot flavors and zesty acidity.

STasting Notes: Bright and balanced, the 2007 Poet's Leap Riesling is a clean, refreshing wine with aromas and flavor showcasing the purity of the grape. White peaches, honey, an appealing mineral note, and a hint of ripe apricot are enhanced by the wine's crisp acidity and fresh, lively finish.
