WINEMAKER'S NOTE
Notes: A deep garnet hue in the glass, this wine greets you with aromas of raspberry, bing cherries, and roasted herbs, accompanied by delicate undertones of anise and hints of mint. With a vibrant mouthfeel and substantial tannins, the palate enjoys cocoa and cherry, with a distinct coffee finish. With a vibrant mouthfeel and substantial tannins, the palate enjoys cocoa and cherry, with a distinct coffee finish. Nicely balanced, with good acidity and well-integrated oak, this big wine reveals itself immediately in the glass. The mid-palate is fruit-driven and lush, leading toward a more structured, textural finish, indicative of the age worthiness of this Cabernet. Decant for an hour or pop a bottle or two in your cellar, as this bold Cabernet will continue to evolve over the next 10 to 12 years. Cameron Confidential: This Chalk Hill gem is sourced from the same vineyard as Lot 73, which scored a 90-point rating and "Editor's Choice" designation from Wine Enthusiast Magazine. We expect an equal or better rating with this vintage. Volcanic soil composition presides in the area and is made obvious by this wine's smokey earthiness. Spanning over 500 acres, several hundred of which are planted with grapes, this vineyard is composed of hillsides with little nooks and crannies that create a variety of microclimates. From a $60 bottle program, this Cabernet genuinely displays what we're known for: great wine with great value. (hide)
