2007 Johan Pinot Noir "Estate" Winery: Johan Vintage: 2007 Wine Name/Vineyard: "Estate" Wine Category: Pinot Noir Grape blend: 100% Pinot Noir Region: Willamette Valley State or country: Oregon Cases produced: 1,000 KWG Score: 88.7 (based on 4 reviews) Ken's Wine Rating: Very Good (88) Wine Review: This light ruby colored Pinot from Johan is a good reflection of the 2007 vintage in Oregon. It is mild and approachable in all of its characteristics. Its bouquet is a mild red raspberry with hints of vanilla, earth, and cherries. On the palate, it is medium bodied, balanced, and shows gentle acidity. The flavor profile is a mild plum with a hint of strawberry rhubarb and red raspberry. The finish is dry and its moderate oak tannins linger for quite sometime. This offering has a bit of an oaky edge for Pinot. Pair it with pork tenderloin seasoned with black pepper and enjoy. - Ken Winemaker Notes: Medium in color, this wine features a nose of bright bing cherries, earth and spice. The finish is crisp with big chalky tannins, and is a great compliment to all types of food. It is best served with red meats, pork, turkey, and salmon. Organic status: not organic
