2007 Girard Winery Mixed Blacks Napa Valley
The grapes were hand-sorted and crushed to stainless steel fermentors. Pumpovers were done as gently as possible to avoid undesirable harsh tannin extraction. Pressed at dryness to 85% French and 15% American oak with a composition of 40% new oak for both barrel types.
DescriptionOur 2007 vintage is a lush, medium-bodied wine with silky, well-integrated tannins and balanced acidity. The aroma/flavor profile includes: Baked blackberry pie, cassis, saddle leather and underlying notes of toasted almond.
