wonderful masculine and powerful nose very Bordeaux (petrus?). smooth, filled with perfume and flavours, dry. Opens up after at least an hour showing a much more robust finish. 09/10 opened 6 hours and double decanted. nicely balanced with a relatively subtle nose reflecting that the wine has not really opened and needs to be kept for a while. but promise of a great wine when ready. the wine was also drunk alongside a 1998 and 2000 Bordeaux which was certainly more forward and mature.
