Wine Advocate # 185 Oct 2009 Robert Parker 89 Drink: 2009 - 2019 $45 (32) The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape, a blend of 70% Grenache and the rest Syrah, Mourvedre, Cinsault, Counoise, Muscardin, and Vaccarese, was aged in both small oak and larger foudres. With excellent density, plenty of kirsch, black currant, licorice, sassafras, tobacco leaf, and spice box characteristics, medium to full body, and a velvety texture, it is ideal for drinking over the next 8-10 years. A relatively small estate run by one of the great gentlemen of Chateauneuf du Pape, proprietor Moulin produced both of this estate’s cuvees in 2008, somewhat surprising considering the difficulties of that vintage. The finest wines I have tasted from this 20+ acre estate are their 2007s. Importer: Alain Junguenet, Wines of France, Mountainside, NJ; tel. (908) 654-6173
