Full ruby-red. Musky dark fruits, brown spices, tobacco and licorice on the nose, with a more exotic candied berry quality emerging with aeration. Smooth and subtly complex, with soil-driven flavors of dark raspberry, minerals, tobacco and smoky oak. Not as plush or creamy as the 2006 bottling but boasts excellent depth and balance-and a restrained sweetness. Finishes with a fine dusting of supple tannins and excellent length.
