WINEMAKER'S NOTE
Intense dark cherry colour with violet edges. Deep aromas of mature red fruit, grape skins and raspberry. It has elegant sweet tannins and a delicious variety expression.

Wine & SpiritsThough it's the underdog of Rhone grapes compared with the press that Syrah/Shiraz and Grenache/Garnacha get, Mourvedre (a.k.a. Monastrell) is no weakling - and the Castaño Yecla proves it! Bright cherry red, with dense, textured, cherry flavors on the palate. A great match to simple, bistro-style fare but has enough body to hold up to hearty dishes including beef, game, and strong cheeses. Yummy!
