WINEMAKER'S NOTE
Alamos Malbec is made from grapes grown on the eastern slopes of the pre-Andian mountains of Mendoza. The Catena family has been making wine in the region for more than 100 years. Today, Catena is the acknowledged quality pioneer and ambassador for Argentine wines around the world. All vineyards are hand-harvested. At the winery, the grapes are sorted and chosen by a group of eighteen trained winery staff before they are pressed into each Alamos cuvee'. This balanced and full-flavored wine is excellent with chicken, lamb, grilled vegetables and pasta dishes.

Presents a deeply dark violet color with blackish tones. The nose is full of ripe black fruits with floral tones and touches of leather, vanilla, and spice. The mouthfeel is full yet supple, with juicy black raspberry, black cherry and black currant fruit layered with notes of violets, black pepper and anis. The finish is long and lingering, with soft, velvety tannins and bright, refreshing acidity. Round and fleshy, with enticing spice, blueberry, fig and boysenberry flavors backed by fruitcake and melted licorice hints. Stays fresh and vivid on the finish, with a mocha hint. Drink now through 2009. -Wine Spectator

Light berry smell, not much else. Huge berry flavor in the back of the mouth. Not too much alcohol sensation. Dry tannin aftertaste in the back of mouth. I would like to try this with some ice cream and fresh fruit.
