Deep red. Ripe cherry and dark berry aromas are complicated by tobacco, musky underbrush and violet. Plush, slightly sweet blackberry and boysenberry flavors coat the palate, offering good depth and velvety texture. I'd have liked more energy but there's undeniable richness and good weight to this wine.
