Elements of red cherries, rooty spice and dried herbs speak directly to varietal basics, and this wine initially shows a bit of the palatal roundness that we expect from Merlot, but things are presently cut off in the latter palate by pushy acidity, and it needs three of four years before smoothing into shape.
