Ripe black cherry aromas lead the way in this full-bodied yet not quite fully fruity wine, but complexing notes of vanilla, sweet soil and toffee provide plenty of interest here and in the surprisingly firm, almost acidy flavors. Back-palate puckeriness argues against current drinking, but age should help.
