Rubicon Cask is their finest expression of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from this historic estate in Rutherford. Originally the Niebaum estate, wine grapes have been grown on this property since the 1800's. Grapes for this wine were sourced from two vineyards, the Cohn and the Chateau, right in the Rutherford bench. Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored this 95 points saying "Gorgeous, elegant and ageworthy. With a softly tannic structure, it’s drinkable now, but should age and gain complexity for 10 years. Dry and smooth, it has complex flavors of blackberries, black cherries, currants, red licorice, cola and oak. Give it some time to breathe. Now–2017.

Our 2006 CASK Cabernet has an exceptional aromatic quality and luscious flavors of red cherries and blackberries as well as plum and cocoa on the mid-palate. With its soft, lingering finish, the wine is easy to enjoy now with roasted or grilled meats, pasta and cheeses. It is a classic representation of Rutherford Cabernet.
