Although this wine sends slightly mixed messages with its rich, but slightly diffuse mix of ripe blackberries and stavey oak spice in the nose, it is focused and very solid once in the mouth with well-defined varietal fruit leading the way. Slightly rounded in feel, but fairly firm in overall balance, it is capable of improving for several years but will serve nicely now with savory pork roasts basted with Port or spiced honey.
