WINEMAKER'S NOTE
85% Cabernet Sauvignon 13% Merlot 1% Cabernet Franc 1% Petit Verdot. Heady perfume of ripe black cherry and currant with black tea spice and violet notes. Bright and abundant dark fruit and black currant liqueur are intertwined with sweet spice box licorice and violets. Opulent black cherry drives the lively long-lived finish. A rich multi-layered Cabernet that balances power with finesse. The 2004 vintage Affinity is a Cabernet-driven Bordeaux blend that showcases the power and richness of Napa Valley hillside fruit backed by an underlying band of round ripe tannins. Luscious fruit flavors read more...of great depth and purity are hallmarks of Affinity along with integrated tannin structure for long-term aging. (hide)

92 RP very bold and "woody", good core of flavors and outstanding color density. would easily buy again and easily a 92+ rating. Since the Affinity debuted with the 1993 vintage, our Bordeaux-style Cabernet has been a sought-after favorite on wine lists of the nation's top restaurants and in fine wine shops. Finesse and grace are the hallmarks of this classy blend, echoing a Margaux-like complexity, depth and harmony, in which dark, luscious fruit is married with ripe, round tannins that provide the structure for aging. Aroma: Concentrated berry and black cherry fruit at the forefront, underlain with sweet cassis and touches of violets, lavender and spicy oak. Flavors: A beautifully polished core of black fruit on the mid-palate, interwoven with black olive, red currant, espresso and a hint of maple. Finish: Lush and generous, focusing on more dense fruit, enlivened with crisp acidity and silky, fine-grained tannins. General: A rich, multi-layered Cabernet that balances power with finesse. 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot
