  • Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines
    Very ripe berries combine in the nose here with a fair dose of sweet oak and accents of tar. In the mouth, the wine is supple and slightly soft-edged with flashes of chocolate sitting to the side of its ample fruit. It firms up at the finish and so becomes a food-worthy Zin, and its slight heat is countered by the taste of well-ripened berries.

    This big and exuberant wine has a dark garnet color. Aromas of plum, spice and a touch of eucalyptus in the nose. Flavors are mouth filling and jammy with intense Zinfandel character reminiscent of the 1995 Westside. A really substantial wine suitable for current enjoyment or cellaring.
