Bright red. Floral nuances of rose and violet complement redcurrant on the nose, with an element of sweet spices emerging with aeration. Medium-bodied, straightforward and bright, with delicately spicy red berry flavors and polished tannins. This should be enjoyed over the next three or four years. A joint venture between importer Neil Empson and Franco Bernabei, one of Italy 's best winemakers.

Nose is light and not remarkable. Taste bursts immediately with leather, toast, cherries, some spice, and just a hint of lemon acidity. Complex Sangiovese helped by the Merlot. Good food wine, better than on its own though enjoyable as such.

2009: smooth. would get even better with age. 2011: smooth and ripe with rich fruit and balanced tanins
