This full-fledged proponent of the Lodi style is long on ripeness and the rich, dark-chocolate qualities that its warm provenance predicts, but it is also surprisingly fruity, and its lack of angles, edges and invasive heat make it a tasty, wide-open Zin that is eminently well-suited for immediate drinking with the likes of spicy pork stews.

Big dark fruit flavor with hints of licorice. Soft, haunting tannins with long finish. Wine became softer and easier to drink as the bottle emptied. A gem of a croud pleaser.
