Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines60% Cabernet Sauvignon; 30% Merlot; 10% Petit Verdot. Subtle suggestions of dried herbs and a bit of woodsy spice serve as accents to deep, well-ripened, curranty fruit in this comparatively supple and easy-to-taste effort. It is nicely balanced if nominally coarse, and, while sufficiently tannic to grow for a number of years, it offers a good deal to like even now.

International Wine CellarRed-ruby. Sexy aromas of dark plum, chocolate, molten chocolate and smoky oak. Full, concentrated and sweet in the mouth, with ripe flavors of currant, plum and smoke. Thanks to the wine's very good stuffing, the broad, sweet tannins come across as smooth today. Finishes with very good aromatic persistence. Quite harmonious already.
