WINEMAKER'S NOTE
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: 90 points
Ruby-red. Aromatically pure nose offers black cherry, raspberry, chocolate and mocha. Sweet on entry, then juicy, fruity and vinous, with harmonious acidity framing the fruit and extending the finish....

International Wine CellarRed-ruby. Highly aromatic, inviting nose offers black raspberry, mocha, chocolate, licorice and a minty nuance. Lush, sweet and round, with very good richness and vinosity to the black raspberry, smoke and mocha flavors. The broad, firm finish shows a distinct medicinal reserve, suggesting that this will be better for five years or so in the cellar.

Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines85% Merlot; 10% Cabernet Sauvignon; 5% Cabernet Franc. As is the case with most of the wines in our brief sampling of 2006 Pomerols, Clinet leads with lightly herbal, red cherry aromas that smack faintly of dried brush and celery seed. It is not an especially big or gutsy wine, but it is nicely polished and its tannins are well-fit to its soft-spoken fruit. A bit of polish is already evident, and it needs fairly brief aging.
