Although not usually counted among the top performers of the Haut-Medoc and far more reliant on Merlot than its neighbors, Chateau Clarke has come up with an impressive wine in 2006. Ripe and fleshy with a long line of well-ripened fruit, it displays plenty of muscle with juts the right degree of tannic grip, and it hits the mark for both quality and fine value.
