Connoisseurs' Guide to California WinesHere is a balanced, mid-sized look at Zinfandel whose tempered ripeness makes it one for the table. Its clean and nicely focused berryish fruit is not pushed aside by chocolate, nor does it give up to harshness or heat. It is fit with good acidity and just the right bit of firming tannins, and, while its balance will hold it in fine stead over the next two to four years, it will drink well with tomato-sauced pastas in the short term. GOOD VALUE
