48% Mourvedre; 29% Grenache; 20% Syrah; 3% Cinsault. It is anything but elegant and it shows scattered suggestions of dark chocolate at virtually every stop, but this fleshy, full-bodied wine is filled with deep, black-cherry fruit and is more than a simple exercise in runaway ripeness. Its viscous beginnings are followed by a fair dose of firm tannins, and its coarse finishing edges call for a few years of age.
