Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines90% Pinot Noir; 10% Chardonnay. Yet another sparkling success from Schramsberg, it joins the cast of Pinot Noir based bottlings setting the pace among the winery's current releases. This one is full of brisk, slightly steely fruit and lightly toasty, yeast autolysis character, and like its mates is impeccably and insistently bubbled. It will be delightful as a pre-prepandial aperitif yet has the depth to stand up to light first courses.

bishamonNot sure if better than the Taittinger from last year's NYE party, but still a solid sparkling wine though more metallic than I wouldve imagined. Great with fruit and scallops though.
